Ordinance on 'Love Jihad' an attack on Constitution: CPI (M-L)

Lucknow, Nov 25 (UNI) The state unit of the Communist Party of India (M-L) has said that the ordinance on 'Love Jihad' approved by the Yogi government's cabinet is an attack on the Constitution of the country.
It is a 'Manuvadi' attack on the freedom of faith and religion and civil liberties provided by the Constitution.
The party's state secretary Sudhakar Yadav on Wednesday said that after the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), the ordinance on 'Love Jihad' will be another law based on lies, which targets Muslim men but it will also affect the independence of Hindu women.
The CPI leader alleged that this ordinance has been brought for the state to interfere in spontaneous human relationships, make a legal provision for harassment by making a mountain out of a mole hill and create an atmosphere of fear rather than security.
Mr Sudhakar Yadav said that the politics of hatred and polarization is the Sangh-BJP agenda and 'Love Jihad' is a part of the same thing. The CPI (M-L) stringently opposes this ordinance and demands its withdrawal.
