FC Goa was dominating Mumbai City FC for most parts of the game but Redeem Tlang's red card has changed the complexion of the game.

MCFC still doesn't have a single shot on target after 135 minutes in the 2020-21 ISL. The team has the advantage here, but it has to be a bit more lethal to defeat FCG.

45+2' FOUL! Free-kick for FC Goa! MCFC centre-back Mourtada Fall takes down FCG's Seiminlen Doungel from behind. The Goa players want the referee to book Fall but he says nothing doing.

45' Three minutes of stoppage time to be added on at the end of the first-half! Mumbai is moving forward with numbers now. Lobera's side desperately wants at least a shot on target.

43' CHANCE! Farukh Choudhary and Adam Le Fondre try to work out an attack together. But the Goan defence gets away with it. This is Mumbai's game to lose now.

40' RED CARD! FC Goa's Redeem Tlang is sent off. The referee didn't hesitate a bit to give his decision here. That tackle from Tlang made contact right between the calf and knee of Mumbai City's Hernan Santana.

38' FOUL! Alberto Noguera wins a free-kick for Goa. Mumbai's Hernan Santana clipped his legs from behind. It was a soft foul so no booking.

35' CROSS! Edu Bedia takes the set-piece for FCG. But MCFC shot-stopper Amrinder Singh lets it go out to win a goalkick.

34' ANOTHER BOOKING! This time Seriton is the victim as he was making a move for Goa on the right flank. However, he was taken down by Mandar Rao Dessai, who received a yellow card for the tackle.

31' YELLOW CARD! FC Goa's Seriton Fernandes goes into the referee's book for a terrible tackle on Mumbao City FC's Hugo Boumous.

29' FREE-KICK FOR MUMBAI! This is also from a promising position. Cy Goddard will take this one. But his cross is very long as it goes out of play. Goa is still untroubled.

26' CHANCE! Edu Bedia took the set-piece for FC Goa. But he was unable to test Mumbai City FC goalkeeper Amrinder Singh, who made a straightforward save.

24' FREE-KICK FOR GOA! This is from a dangerous position very close to the goal. YELLOW CARD! Sarthak Golui receives his second consecutive booking this season for a silly tackle.

22' SHOT! Alberto Noguera was trying to find Igor Angulo in the middle. But he misplaced his pass, however, Lenny Rodrigues was able to get to the ball and he unleashed a shot which was way off target.

19' FC Goa has dominated the early proccedings here. Reminder: Mumbai City FC still doesn't have a single shot on target in two ISL 2020-21 games. Lobera will be desperate for a breakthrough, especially against his old team.

17' FOUL! Free-kick for Goa. Boumous looks like a frustrated figure here. In an attempt to recover the ball from Saviour Gama, the Mumbai midfielder shoves him. He's lucky to not receive a yellow card.

14' CORNER FOR MUMBAI! Hugo Boumous will take it. Farukh Choudhary was the player who won the set-piece after his shot was deflected away by a Goa defender. The corner is taken and is easily headed away by James Donachie.

11' CHANCE FOR MUMBAI!! Mandar Rao Dessai, with a pacy run on the wing, got into a good position to cross the ball into the obx. But his delivery was cleared away easily by the Goa defence.

8' CORNER FOR GOA! It should have been 1-0 FCG but Angulo's first touch let him down here. Alberto Noguera came up with a good low cross from the left flank but Angulo could only manage to win a set-piece.

6' OFFSIDE! The man who bagged a brace in the last game against Bengaluru FC -- Igor Angulo -- was just too eager to get forward as the linesman raises his flag.

4' FOUL! MCFC's Adam Le Fondre commits a silly tackle on FCG's Lenny Rodrigues. The referee awards a free-kick to Goa. The Mumbai forward gets away without a card.

2' GOOD CHALLENGE! Redeem Tlang makes a good move forward for FC Goa. However, Amey Ranawade's brilliant sprint and tackle averts the danger for Mumbai City FC.

FC Goa, in terms of wins during the regular season, is the most successful team in the history of the competition with 51 victories from 109 matches at a success rate of 46.7 per cent. 5:35 PM: FC Goa, two-time finalist of the Indian Super League, had a lot of work to do in the transfer window as star players from last season left the club to join former coach Sergio Lobera. MATCH PREVIEW:

An air of familiarity will rule the Indian Super League (ISL) clash between FC Goa and Mumbai City FC, at Fatorda Stadium in Goa on Wednesday.

Mumbai City FC head coach Sergio Lobera, who guided FC Goa to success in his three-year stint there, will make his first appearance against his former club.

Mumbai City FC midfielder Hugo Boumous is in a similar situation, having scored 20 goals in his fruitful three year spell at FC Goa. Mandar Rao Dessai, Amey Ranawade and Mourtada Fall are some of the others to follow Lobero and Boumous from FC Goa to Mumbai City FC at the end of the previous season.

For Lobera, it will be a special occasion. "It is a special game for me. I have good memories of my last three seasons at FC Goa. We achieved a lot of things. We increased the number of players in the Indian national team. But tomorrow we need to compete well and win the game," Lobera said.

Lobero will miss the services of Ahmed Jahouh, another former FC Goa player, as the midfielder is serving a one-match suspension for receiving a red card in the 0-1 defeat to NorthEast United FC on Saturday.

FC Goa skipper Edu Bedia acknowledged the significance of going up against many of his former teammates. “I know that there will be an edge to the contest with a number of our ex players in the Mumbai side. However, I feel that extra motivation is not really good for any athlete, as he might end up being pushed to do more than what is required,” Bedia said.

Bedia added that his side is on a high, having overturned a 0-2 deficit to salvage an exciting 2-2 draw against Bengaluru FC on Sunday. “Our focus will be on 3 points and to improve ourselves. We ended the last game on a high note, and we want to carry that momentum forward,” Bedia said.
