Naveen asks centre to bring clarity on time frame of Board, Higher secondary education

Bhubaneswar, Nov 25 (UNI) Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today requested the union
government to bring clarity on the time frame for conduct of the Board and Higher
Secondary Examinations and duration of academic session 2020-2021.
Mr Patnaik in a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said students, their teachers
and parents are in a state of uncertainty in the absence of clarity on academic session
and conduct of Board examination of both standard X and XII Board examinations
The Chief Minister said as all competitive examinations and admission in institutions
of higher education are interlinked national guidelines with tentative timeline will help the
states.for framing appropriate strategy.
Mr Patnaik said all educational institutions are closed in the state since March 17 last
due to Covid-19 pandemic.
Keeping in view the safety and security of students after consultations with different
stakeholders and experts, the government decided to keep educational institutions
closed up to December 31 next, he said.
The state has been trying to reach out to maximum number of students digitally through
different modes but it is not possible to cover all students and prepare them to face Board
and different competitive examinations, Mr Patnaik remarked.
