Kazakhtelecom completes fibre expansion in Almaty

Kazakhstan national operator Kazakhtelecom has completed the expansion of its fibre-optic network in the Almaty region. Almost 2,140 km of fibre-optic lines have been deployed, covering 159 villages. As a result, internet services have become available at 414 public sector institutions in the region.

The project was started in November 2018. A total of 1,443 km of lines were deployed by the end of 2019, and 696 km of additional lines have been built this year.
