Stock market update: MidCap stocks drop; Adani Green loses 5%

NEW DELHI: MidCap stocks were trading on a negative note at 01:22PM (IST) on Wednesday.

Shares of Larsen & Toubro Infotech (down 5.22 per cent), PI Industrial (down 5.11 per cent), Adani Green (down 5.0 per cent), 3M India (down 4.29 per cent) and Supreme Industries (down 3.82 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

While Canara Bank (up 6.28 per cent), Future Retail (up 4.95 per cent), Tata Power Company (up 4.75 per cent), Bank of India (up 4.46 per cent) and Emami (up 4.18 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The S&P BSE MidCap index was trading 0.77 per cent down at 16609.64 around 01:22PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 42.05 points at 13013.1, while the BSE Sensex was down 175.08 points at 44347.94.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 were trading in the green, while 29 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, PNB, Federal Bank and Bank of Baroda were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Tata Power, Gland Pharma, Emami, Tanla Solutions and Chambal Fert hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Innovative Ideals and Services (India) Ltd., Pazel International Ltd., Jump Networks Ltd., Pagaria Energy Ltd., Lakshmi Vilas Bank Ltd., Rainbow Denim Ltd., Chandrima Mercantiles Ltd., Goldline International Finvest Ltd., Shree Rajeshwaranand Paper Mills Ltd. and Shriram Asset Management Company Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
