Norwegian communications regulator Nkom said it will run a consultation until 31 December concerning proposed amendments to European Economic Area (EAA) requirements for maritime radio equipment. The changes apply to a new paragraph 17 and a new appendix A. The EAA amendments follow a change by the EU Commission to the ships’ equipment directive with reference to the international conventions SOLAS, MARPOL and COLREG.
