Chennai, Nov 24 (UNI) As the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry
government were bracing to tackle the effects of cyclonic
storm 'Nivar', Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to both
the Chief Ministers to review the preparatory arrangements.
Mr Modi spoke to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi
K Palaniswami over phone and discussed about the
precautionary measures taken by the government in
view of the Cyclone.
He also assured all necessary help and cooperation
to the state government, an official release said.
Mr Modi also tweeted '"Spoke to Tamil Nadu CM
Shri @EPSTamilNadu and Puducherry CM Shri
@VNarayanasami regarding the situation in the
wake of Cyclone Nivar.'
'Assured all possible support from the Centre. I
pray for the safety and well-being of those living
in the affected areas," Mr Modi tweeted.
The system would cross the coasts between
Mamallapuram in Tamil Nadu and Karaikal in
Puducherry as a severe cyclonic storm tomorrow
evening.
