JAMMU: Union MoS Finance & Election Incharge Anurag Thakur attacked Gupkar gang on the illegally occupied state lands under the disputed “Roshni Act”, while he addressed a Press Conference at BJP headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
BJP General Secretary & former Minister Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal, BJP Chief Spokesperson Adv. Sunil Sethi, Rajeev Charak and Ajay Pargal were also present on the occasion.
Anurag Thakur ferociously attacked Gupkar gang on the recently disclosure of the big names in the land grabbing scam under the cover of Roshni Act.
Thakur said that National Conference, Congress, PDP and other members of Gupkar Gang has looted the resources of Jammu & Kashmir for past 70 years. Roshni land scam is one of the biggest land scam in the history of India. Gupkar gang leaders have looted the state resources and land for the last 70 years. They made strategies how to encroach land and made suitable laws to change the illegal into legal land in a well planned manner.
It was estimated that total revenue of 25,000 Crore will be collected under this scheme which will be utilized to fund hydropower projects. This was named as “Roshni-The J&K state lands Act 2001” for vesting of ownership to the occupants, which meant to give benefit to the persons who illegally occupied the government and forest lands. But only 76 Crore is collected against expected 25,000 Crores. Where are the power projects?
Now, High Court has termed it to be illegal and non-constitutional and asked to publish names of involved leaders, businessmen, bureaucrats, officers and every one whosoever involved. In the list, big names like Farooq Abdullah, his relatives and party leaders have come out. “Is this scheme was really to help the poor and generate money for Hydro-Power projects?”, he asked.
NC headquarter Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan on Veer Marg Jammu (3 kanal 16 marla), Kashmir (3 kanal 16 marla) and Farooq Abdullah’s own home is built on encroached piece of land. The act was modified at various times by Congress & PDP Chief Ministers, cut-off date was extended many times to extend the list. 3 lakhs 42 thousands kanals land was grabbed by Gupkar Gang members and by their supporters. Who is responsible for this loot? Will Gupkar gang come forward and tell the truth on this. Gupkar gang is land-grabber gang. “They are not ‘Jamini neta but Jamin par kabja karnae wale neta’”, he said.
Thakur added that If 370 was not abrogated and also PIL was not filed in the Court, this corruption was not investigated then this could not have been possible, we are thankful to Court for giving go ahead for CBI investigation in the case. Big names like former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah and his sister, AG, then Chairman of J&K Bank, then top bureaucrats & officials, have all occupied the big lands illegally, they all never fought for the rights of the people of J&K but only for having undue favours to grab lands of government & forests and to loot resources systematically and corruptly.
Sajjad Kitchloo, Sayeed Akoon, Suraiya Matoo, Aslam Goni, Haseem Drabu, his family all have been implicated in this case. Congress leaders were equally involved with NC, PDP and other members of Gupkar. Its leaders like Majid Wani, K K Amla and others are involved in this scam. The real face of land grabbers Gang-Gupkar Gang has come out, Anurag Thakur stressed.
