NEW DELHI: NCP chief Sharad Pawar on Tuesday took a dig at Union minister Raosaheb Patil Danve and called him a 'jyotishi'.
Danve had on Monday claimed that the BJP will form a government in Maharashtra in the next two to three months.
Reacting to his remarks, Sharad Pawar said: "Raosaheb Patil Danve has been an MP and politician for years but I didn't know of this quality of his. In politics, he was never known as a 'jyotishi' but now I know that he has this talent too."
Speaking at an election rally in Parbhani district in Aurangabad, Danve had on Monday said there is discord among the three alliance partners in power in Maharashtra.
“The MVA (Maha Vikas Aghadi) government is slated to collapse in the next couple of months ... BJP workers should not think that our government will not come in Maharashtra. We will form a government in the next two-three months. We have worked out the mathematics. We are waiting for the ongoing elections to get over” he had said.
The BJP and the Shiv Sena had together contested the assembly elections in Maharashtra. However, the two parties parted ways after differences over the post of chief minister. Shiv Sena then joined hands with the NCP and the Congress to form the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in the state.
