NOIDA: Three people succumbed to Covid-19 from GB Nagar on Tuesday, taking the total number of deceased to 80 or 0.36% people dead due to the
pandemic.
These include an 84-year-old male from
Fortis hospital who suffered from multiple comorbidities such as diabetes, hypertension, kidney and heart disease. “He was admitted for nine days at Fortis hospital,” said Dr Sunil Dohare district data monitoring officer. The other two according to Dr Dohare were a 51-year-old female, admitted in Sharda L3 Covid hospital since the last seven days and a 66-year-old male who passed away at Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS). “While the 51 year old lady at Sharda hospital suffered from low pneumonia, the 66-year-old male who expired at GIMS was in serious comorbid condition and admitted since past three days,” said Dr Dohare.
Since November 20 when there were a total of 74 dead, GB Nagar has reported daily one death till November 23 taking the total to 77. Tuesday's spike of three deaths in a single day has taken the total number of dead in November to 12 so far. This is the third highest figure in a month since the last six months where a total of 4 deaths were reported in June followed by 19 in July (highest in last six months), 3 in August, 10 in September and 14 in October (second highest in last six months).
The district reported 152 new cases of
coronavirus on Tuesday while 178 patients recovered in the past 24 hours taking the total number of confirmed cases in the district to 21,801 on Tuesday.
According to the state report, there are 1,276 patients or 6% (05.85%) active cases in GB Nagar while a total of 20,445 or 94% (93.78%) patients have recovered from the disease in the district so far.
The GB Nagar administration also released a new list of 237 containment zones on Tuesday where 227 containment zones are in category 1 and 10 containment zones are in category 2.
The district health department also conducted 2900
rapid antigen tests on Tuesday in which 31 tested positive. The figure (2900) includes 188 random rapid antigen tests at two places one at
Ashok Nagar border from Delhi (where 2 tested positive) and another at Botanical Garden where one tested positive.
Also the health department conducted a total of 1412
RT-PCR tests on Tuesday in which 1067 tests were conducted at government labs and 345 tests were conducted at private labs.
