American Music Awards 2020 saw some of the biggest names in music take awards for fan-favourite albums and songs. Taraji P. Henson hosted the show from The Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles and with Covid-19 protocols, the show saw multiple live performances, in person presenters and even a small audience. Along with nominees Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande, there were performances from Justin Bieber, Dua Lipa, Jennifer Lopez and Katy Perry.
Swift took home the artist of the year award, whereas Doja Cat won won the best new artist. The Weeknd bagged favourite male artist in R&B category and BTS won best social artist.
