Cases of both coronavirus, crime rising in UP: Akhilesh

Lucknow, Nov 24 (UNI) Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav here on Tuesday said be it coronavirus or crime, everything is going out of control in Bharatiya Janata Party's regime.

Mr Yadav averred that cases of both coronavirus and crime are rising. The development is at a standstill while the zero tolerance towards corruption has been reduced to a joke, he alleged.

The former UP CM alleged that the government treasury has been looted while the Centre is praising Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for doctored figures.

The SP president questioned the 'Swachh Bharat' mission as most cities, including state capital Lucknow, are having poor air quality most of the days due to the pollution.

Mr Yadav highlighted the ongoing pandemic which has infected a total of 5.28 lakh people in UP, of which 7,582 have lost their lives.

He claimed that the health services of the state have collapsed."Various complaints of negligence in the treatment of patients in government hospitals are coming out. The government is now taking the virus casually. Incorrect information of hospital services is being published to mislead the public," he alleged.

The SP leader claimed that the BJP government's "zero tolerance against corruption" motto is a joke."Open Defecation Free (ODF) campaign in Jaunpur is full of corruption. A survey revealed that toilets were not built in 1,960 homes while the city was declared ODF. Also the built toilets are being used for keeping animal fodder or other activities," he alleged."The people have now seen the BJP government and are pinning their hopes at 2022 Assembly elections when SP will take the reins from the BJP," Mr Yadav claimed.
