Cambodia to send 2 mln face masks, medical supplies to Myanmar for Coronavirus fight

Phnom Penh, Nov 24 (UNI) Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen said on Tuesday that the kingdom will provide 2 million face masks and other medical supplies to Myanmar to help fight the Coronavirus pandemic.
"On behalf of the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia, I would like to provide a donation of 2 million masks and other medical facilities ... to the Government and the people of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar," Hun Sen said in a letter to Myanmar's State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi.
The donation includes 2 million face masks, 100,000 fabric face masks, 20,000 N-95 masks, 20,000 goggles, 20,000 sets of personal protective equipment, 500 hand-held temperature scanners, and 20 sets of ventilator machines for the use in intensive care units, among others.
The Cambodian prime minister said Health Minister Mam Bunheng will bring the donated supplies to Myanmar on Nov. 26 by a special flight.
"With our collective effort, I strongly believe that we will succeed in the fight against COVID-19, and we will emerge stronger together," he said.
Last week, Cambodia also donated 2 million face masks and other medical supplies to neighboring Laos for the fight against COVID-19.
Cambodia has so far reported 306 confirmed COVID-19 cases with zero deaths and 296 recoveries, showed official data.
