IMD sounds 'yellow alert' in K'taka, predicts heavy rain in State on Nov 25 & 26

Bengaluru, Nov 24 (UNI) Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday sounded a 'yellow alert' in the South Interior Districts of Karnataka, predicting heavy rain on November 25 and 26.
The IMD has predicted heavy rain in Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, Kolar Mysuru, Mandya, Ramnagara, Chamarjaanagar and Tumakuru districts due to depression over the bay of Bengal which is forecasted to turn into a cyclonic storm.
Bengaluru especially the low-lying areas of the city are at higher risk of flooding due to the expected heavy spells of rains and thunder because of the storm and widespread rain, according to release issued here.
