Anjali Bansal founder and chairperson of Avaana group is appointed by Piramal Enterprises Limited (PEL) as Independent Director to its board effective from 19 November 2020.
Anjali is the founder and chairperson of Avaana group which invests in and provides scaling up support to technology and innovation companies to deliver impact at scale. Anjali Bansal previously worked as Global partner and MD with TPG growth capital. Prior to TPG she served as global partner and India CEO with Spencer Stuart. She began her career with McKinsey and Co in New York as strategy consultant
Bansal also serves as independent non-executive director of several leading boards including Tata Power, Siemens, Volta, Delhivery. She has also mentored various start-ups like UrbanClap, Nykaa, LensKart and darwinbox. She is associated with NITI Aayog women entrepreneurship platform digital solution and Atal innovation mission.
Anjali appointment with recent appointments of independent directors comes as PEL board is planning independent directors of its board. PEL had diversified business interest in financial services and pharmaceuticals and its consolidated revenue stood at $1.7B in FY 2020.
