Stock market update: MidCap stocks advance; Future Retail surges 10%

NEW DELHI: MidCap stocks were trading on a positive note at 01:07PM (IST) on Tuesday.

Shares of Future Retail (up 10.0 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Financial (up 6.36 per cent), RBL Bank (up 5.62 per cent), Shriram Transport Finance (up 4.62 per cent) and Godrej Properties (up 4.31 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While GMR Infrastructure (down 3.59 per cent), Bajaj Holdings & Investment (down 3.44 per cent), IDFC First Bank (down 2.44 per cent), Jubilant Foodworks (down 1.54 per cent) and Aditya Birla Capital Ltd (down 1.43 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The S&P BSE MidCap index was trading 0.57 per cent up at 16737.21 around 01:07PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 101.40 points at 13027.85, while the BSE Sensex was up 344.14 points at 44421.29.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 were trading in the green, while 18 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, GMR Infra, BHEL and IDFC First Bank Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Capri Global, Granules India, Tanla Solutions, M&M and Tata Chemicals hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Mehai Technology Ltd., Innovative Ideals and Services (India) Ltd., Pazel International Ltd., Jump Networks Ltd., Goblin India Ltd., Sudal Industries Ltd., Gujchem Distillers India Ltd., K&R Rail Engineering Ltd., Shivom Investment & Consultancy Ltd. and Radix Industries (India) Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
