Volleyball tourney held

Imphal, November 20 2020: L Khunao Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters 21 Sector Assam Rifles and Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) organised a friendship volleyball tournament in Kaimai area in collaboration with Kuki Khanglai Lawmpi (KKL) from 17 to 19 November 2020 .

The tournament was aimed to foster fitness and sporting culture amongst the local youth in consonance with the Fit India Movement.

36 teams consisting of 21 men's team and 15 women's team from 16 neighbouring villages participated in the tournament.

The tournament was the first initiative taken in the area to spread friendship and harmony amongst the communities through sports as the medium.

The village chiefs of all 16 villages on behalf of their villages expressed gratitude to Assam Rifles for conducting the first-ever friendship volleyball tournament in the locality which brought all the villages together.
