Pravin Darekar dials Thane police chief over MNS leader’s killing

Thane, Nov 24 (UNI) Maharashtra Council Leader of Opposition Pravin Darekar on Tuesday called up the Thane Police chief, seeking detailed inquiry into the gunning down of the MNS leader

On Monday, Jameel Shaikh, also a social worker was shot dead by unidentified accused in Rabodi area of this city.

Mr Darekar asked the police to nab the accused as well the mastermind involved in the sensational killing.

In a tweet, he called out on Thane Guardian Minister Eknath Shinde as to what was happening in this district.

He also questioned Home Minister Anil Deshmukh over the safety of women and senior citizens in the state.

Meanwhile, Thane-Palghar MNS chief Avinash Jadhav has returned the police security provided to him.

In a letter to the Police chief, he said that in recent times there have been at least three incidences of the attack on the office bearers of the MNS, of which two lost their lives.

“When our activists and office bearers are not safe, why should I move with the security,” he questioned, adding that he may be next target.
