PM Modi pays tribute to Sir Chotu Ram on his birth anniversary

New Delhi, Nov 24 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday paid tribute to peasant leader Sir Chotu Ram on his birth anniversary.

In a tweet, the Prime Minister, recalled Sir Chotu Ram's services for the farmers and said that 'Sir Chotu Ram Ji not only fought for the rights of the farmers but also became the voice of workers, vulnerable and exploited sections of the society'.

'His contribution for the upliftment of the society will always be remembered,' the Prime Minister said.

Sir Chotu Ram was born on November 24, 1881. He is called the 'messiah of peasants' for being engaged in the welfare work for the farmers throughout his life.
