Operator Tele2 Russia has since the start of the year deployed new base stations in the city of St Petersburg, as well as in seven municipalities of the St Petersburg region. The operator has added LTE equipment to all of its base stations across the region; all Western Ring Road motorway has been covered with mobile internet services.
The use of mobile data traffic has grown by 33 percent on the operator's LTE network in the region since the beginning of the year.
The operator has raised the capacity of its network in those areas where there is the highest network overload, raising its LTE-1800 band to 15 MHz. LTE-2600 equipment has been installed at current base stations. Tele2 Russia has started using LTE-800 in six municipalities.
Carrier Aggregation has been activated on the operator's network.
