Russian operator MTS has signed an agreement with gold and silver mining company Polimetall. The operator, in cooperation in Ericsson, will deploy a private 5G-ready network for the company at its gold mining site Nezhdaninskoye in the Republic of Sakha.
MTS will deploy a wireless data transmission and processing network. Intra-corporate IP telephony with support for staff mobile devices, corporate communication, location and remote management systems will be integrated with the network.
In the first stage, the 5G-ready network will work under the LTE standard using a platform from Ericsson Dedicated Networks corresponding to 3GPP standards. This includes an Ericsson Enterprise Core supporting 4G and 5G NSA with a support for a switch to 5G SA.
