ATSUM executives on tour reach Chandel

Senapati, November 23 2020: In continuation of ATSUM tour to hill districts and as a follow up of 'ATSUM Charter of Demands' on issues confronting the tribal populace, ATSUM team visited Chandel district today and held a meeting with district administration, DLOs of various departments, college and higher secondary Principals and Headmasters at DC Conference Hall.

The meeting was also attended by Naga Students Union Chandel (NSUC) which is one of the constituent units of ATSUM.

In the meeting, the visiting team stressed on education, health facilities, forest and environment and functions of the ADC in the district and major aspects confronting the tribal community in the State.

The apex tribal student body reportedly said they found lapses in many aspects especially in the system of education and health care system related to the functioning of PHSC, PHC, CHC etc.

Later, the team visited United College, Lambung and held interaction with media persons.

ATSUM hill districts tours began on 21 Nov 2020 with Senapati being the first district visited by the team and Chandel district is the third next to Kangpokpi district.

They will visit Churachandpur district again on 25 Nov 2020 .
