NBA Free Agency: The ex-LA Lakers’ point guard Rajon Rondo has agreed to a two-year, $15 million contract with the Atlanta Hawks.
Rondo played 14 NBA seasons, was limited by injury last year, and missed 23 regular-season games and five playoff matchups. He came off the bench for the LA Lakers in a corresponding role to assist superstars, LeBron James, and Anthony Davis.
It was evident that Rajon Rondo will have no space in the Lakers’ roster after they announced the signing of Oklahoma City guard Dennis Schroder.
Rajon Rondo was expected to decline his player option for $2.6 million with the Lakers to become a free agent.
Rondo had the Atlanta Hawks chasing after him, according to Brad Turner. He will now play for the Atlanta Hawks in the 2020-21 NBA season.

 How will Rajon Rondo fit in with the Atlanta Haws?
The 34-year-old was an indispensable member of the Los Angeles Lakers’ rotation during their postseason run to a 16th NBA title.
Rondo averaged 8.9 points, 6.6 assists, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.4 steals off the bench for the team. He also shot 40.0 percent from the three-point range in the playoffs.
Rondo will replace the recently retired Vince Carter as the veteran presence in the locker room for an Atlanta Hawks.
The Hawks features six members of the 2019-20 rotation who are less than 23 years old. All-Star point guard Trae Young and nightly double-double threat John Collins are also in that group.
The Hawks will now be looking to make the playoffs for the first time in the Young-Collins era. The two-time NBA champion Rondo with the additions of veterans Danilo Gallinari and Kris Dunn could help them get there with his efforts on and off the court.
