Delta Apparel posts Q4 FY20 sales of $117 mn

Delta Apparel, a US-based provider of activewear and lifestyle apparel products, has reported 8.1 per cent sales  growth to $116.7 million in its fourth quarter (Q4) FY20 compared to sales of $108.0 million in same period previous fiscal. Net income for the quarter ended on October 3, 2020, improved to $5.0 million (Q4 FY19: $3.5 million).
 
“We ended our fiscal year with balanced growth across all of our businesses in the fourth quarter. The broad-based performance powered stellar results, including year-over-year sales growth of 8 per cent and a 70 per cent improvement in operating profit,” Robert Humphreys, chairman and chief executive officer at Delta Apparel, said in a press release.
 
Gross profit during Q4 FY20 fell to $24.9 million ($22.8 million). Selling, general and administrative expenses were $17.2 million ($18.4 million). However, operating income for the quarter improved to $8.3 million ($4.8 million).
 
“While uncertainty remains around the pandemic and general economy, Delta Apparel has a proven track record of successfully navigating uncharted territory. As we enter our new fiscal year we are well positioned to capitalise on numerous market demand opportunities across our businesses,” Humphreys said.
