From new winter collections to all-time classic investments, here are the new fashion launches you need to watch out for this season
Launched in 2014, in the last six years Dandelion has become synonymous with loungewear. Catering to the new normal, the Mumbai-based label has launched Dandelion Living, an extension to the brand that features home decor pieces. Their first collection titled ‘Dream a Dream’ showcases candles, cushions and throw pillows, bedding and gifts. “Dandelion comes from our shared experience of braving this unprecedented new world. Especially at this time, I found myself seeking comfort and recharging in my living pace. Packed with intent in words, feelings and fragrances, our dream essentials are designed to charge up the higher power within us and rediscover our personal potential and living space to be a safe haven without the distraction of our anxieties,” says founder Samyukta Nair.
Rajesh Pratap Singh’s design aesthetic is like none other in the industry. For Satya Paul’s latest collection ‘Valley of Flowers’, Pratap Singh gets nostalgic with inspiration from cover art of albums by Bob Dylan, Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Robert Plant, Henry Darger collages and the hippie communes in the mountains. The drop showcases the label's signature saris 3D embroidery and hand-woven interpretation, reversible kimonos, tailored pantsuits, capes, blouses and dresses showcasing floral patchwork with hand stitch details. What’s more? Just in time for the winter season, the collection also has silk, wool, and cashmere scarfs and hand-crafted leather bags in solid hues finished with 3D embroidery.
Accessory label Misho and New Delhi-based clothing brand, Ekaya have collaborated for a capsule jewellery collection that reinvents the significance of heirloom jewellery. “Misho’s collection for Ekaya is an edit of what we hope become your modern heirlooms. The pieces explore the very essence of what these objects have come to mean to the modern Indian woman,” says Suhani Parekh of Misho. Featuring earrings, necklaces and bangles, the latest drop is an ode to Indian textiles and is crafted using using recycled silver sterling and repurposed fabrics.
When it comes to the high street behemoth's efforts at sustainability and ethical practices, H&M is ahead of the curve. For their Conscious Exclusive autumn/winter 2020 collection, the label has crafted ensembles using post-consumer carpet fibre, post-industrial plastic packaging and PET bottles. This season they have also added two new fabrics namely Hemp Biofibre™, made from oilseed hemp crop waste, and Naia™ Renew, a cellulosic fibre sourced from circular content. Giving evening wear a new life, the new drop features coordinated sets, mini dresses, feminine blouses with frill detailing, ruffles and florals.
With the current situation and low-key social life, you might be thinking it is time to put a pause on your jewellery shopping but think again. For spring/summer 2021, Tiffany's collection proves what all true lovers of jewellery know: its undeniable ability to elevate your mood to make you feel dressed up. So if you’re planning to upgrade your jewellery collection with something timeless you can count on their versatile rings, earrings and necklaces.
