After experiencing months of border lockdown due to the pandemic worldwide, Iraq will start facilitating its entry visas for all international tourists. This step is expected to bolster its limping economy. Authorities will start granting foreigners with entry visas with an intention of visiting the touristic, religious and heritage places, t on Saturday, the state news agency INA has reported the fact. “After the coronavirus crisis has cleared up, Iraq needs to build new bridges to communicate with various countries of the world,” a statement from the presidential office said.
Besides revitalizing the tourism and cultural sectors in Iraq, the presidential office considered ways of attracting foreign investment into the country in a recent meeting with the Director General of Civil Status, Passports and Residence.
“Iraqi cities, social life and multiple activities” offered opportunities for financial, commercial and investment cooperation, the statement read.
