Legal litreracy camp held in Mancherial

Mancherial: A legal literacy camp was held at Sakhi, one stop centre for women in crisis, here on Monday. Senior civil judge Srilekha was the chief guest at the event.

Speaking on the occasion, Srilekha opined that several Acts framed were a boon to women. She suggested the women to utilise the laws meant for them. She told the women to get married only when they are aged above 18 and they could avail maintenance expenditure under domestic violence Act.

Other judges Ramesh and Thirupathi, who also took part in the awareness programme, women in marital crisis could get legal services for free. They can approach the district legal services authority. District Child and Women Welfare Officer Rauf Khan advised women to utilize services of Sakhi Centre and women could seek help from it by dialling toll free number 181.

Mancherial Bar Association president Sattaiah, vice president Ramulu, lawyers Gangaiah, Bhujang Rao, Sakhi Centre Administrator Srilatha, legal advisor Shailaja and many others were present.
