Will not let any wrongdoing to happen to J&K residents studying, working outside: BJP

Srinagar, Nov 23 (UNI) Asserting that his party will not let any wrongdoing to happen to the people of J&K who are outside for studies or business, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National spokesperson Syed Shahnawaz Hussain said that he will take up the case of two missing Kulgam driver with the Uttar Pradesh (UP) government.

“Their (J&K residents working or studying outside the UT) security is our responsibility and we take full guarantee,” Mr Hussain told UNI.

“I will talk to the UP government regarding two missing Kulgam truck drivers. BJP will not let any wrongdoing to happen to the youth of J&K who are outside for studies or business. Their security is our responsibility and we take full guarantee. When one to two incidents came to our notice from Haryana, we took immediate action,” he added.

He further said the students from J&K will have the best colleges and universities in the UT and won’t have to go to other states for higher education.

Two truck driver siblings -- identified as Younis Ahmad Dar and Faisal Hassan -- went missing from UP since November 18. The family members have been trying to contact them, but their phones are switched off.

Answering a question about when the political workers and activities placed in detention outside J&K jails post August 5, 2019, will be released, he said they are being taken care of. “Good food is being provided to them and they are being treated nicely,” he said.

However, he said it is the security agencies who need to take a final call on the detention of these people.

He said many people are not in preventive detention, they are involved in different cases, including Hawala. “Law will take its own course. Everyone, irrespective of his position, has to be answerable for his wrongdoings,” he added.

Mr Hussain said that he will raise the issue of restoration of high speed internet in J&K (which remained suspended since August 5, 2019, when the special status of the erstwhile state was abrogated) with the Centre.

He said the time of suffering for the people of Jammu and Kashmir has ended. “Now they will enjoy prosperity and happiness. BJP will lay emphasis on education and tourism in all districts of J&K,” Mr Hussain added.

The BJP, he said, will win the hearts of the people through development, adding ‘if someone misguides the youth of J&K, it is our duty to bring them back to the right path’.

The senior BJP leader said it is the resolve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to develop J&K. “It is the resolve of PM Modi to develop tourism in J&K and end militancy. We want to fight the DDC elections on the plank of development,” he said.
