Markets opened higher on Monday, with Nifty reaching record highs on hopes for imminent coronavirus vaccines.
Nifty50 was trading up by 0.14% or 17.80 points at 12,876.85.
Sensex was trading at 43,930 having gained by 0.11% or 48.60 pts.
Nifty Pharma rose by 1.67% to 11,719.25, while metal stocks, too, lifted the benchmarks higher with Nifty Meal gaining by 1.19% to 2,807.70.
IndusInd Bank, Divi's Lab, Bajaj FInserv, all gaining by 3% each were the top gainers. NTPC and Reliance gained by 2.45% each.
HDFC, Tata Motors, M&M, ICICI Bank and ITC were the top losers shedding 1% each.
Of the 50 stocks on NSE, 30 advanced and 20 declined.
