HP records 22 COVID-19 deaths, 454 cases

Shimla, Nov 23 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh recorded single-day highest deaths of 22 from COVID-19 while 454 more people were found infected in the past 24 hours, state health bulletin said on Monday night.
Of the fresh deaths, maximum 12 were recorded in Shimla, followed by three each in Mandi and Kangra, two Bilaspur and one each in Solan and Kullu.
In cases, 90 were registered in Solan, 88 in Kangra, 69 in Mandi, 60 in Kullu, 40 in Shimla, 17 in Bilaspur, 30 in Hamirpur, 33 in Una, 14 in Lahaul Spiti, seven in Sirmaur and six in Chamba.
The total number of cases in the hill state have now reached 34,781. The active cases stand at 6,680, recovered 27,518 while 550 people have lost their lives.

MP CM stresses on scotching middlemen menace

Bhopal, Nov 23 (UNI) Highlighting the need to combat the scourge of intermediaries in the agrarian sphere, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday emphasised on developing a market system whereby “our cultivator brethren” receive the right prices for their yield.
“Lessening the gap between wholesale and retail rates of vegetables is desirable. A report should be prepared regarding related support price and submitted to me within a period not exceeding two days. Arrangements in other states must be studied,” the senior politician was officially quoted as saying during a Horticulture Department meeting at Mantralaya.

J&K records 351 COVID-19 cases, 12 deaths

Jammu, Nov 23 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Government on Monday informed that 351 new positive cases of novel Corona virus, 185 from Jammu and 166 from Kashmir division, have been reported, taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1,06,899.

Sambal beneficiaries exempted from exam fees

Bhopal, Nov 23 (UNI) In a benevolent measure for daughters and sons of underprivileged families, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan directed on Monday that no fee be charged from Sambal Yojana beneficiary pupils vis-à-vis Board of Secondary Education examinations.
At a meeting with his officers, the senior politician solicited related inputs, it was officially learnt.
