Hyderabad: A 24-year-old man, who was working as an assistant director in Telugu films, has been reported missing from Punjagutta two days ago.

According to the police, Utharadhi Karthik (24) of Madhuranagar visited the house of his in-laws in West Godavari along with his friend Suresh on Friday and returned to the city the next morning. Suresh dropped him at Arya Bhavan hotel in Punjagutta around 10.30 am on Saturday. However, Karthik did not return to his house at Madhuranagar since Saturday morning following which his father Utharadi Lakshmi Narayana approached the police on Monday.

“Karthik had invested some money in a television serial being produced in partnership with two others. However the project failed and Karthik was under pressure as investors were demanding him to return the money,” the Punjagutta police said, quoting Lakshmi Narayana. A case was registered and efforts are on to trace Karthik.
