Patnaik assumes office as new Regional Director, RBI J&K, Ladakh UTs

Jammu, Nov 23 (UNI) Kamal P Patnaik on Monday took over the charge as the new Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India for the UTs of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
Before joining RBI Jammu, he was Chief General Manager (O-I-C) at RBI, Kochi Office.
Thomas Mathew, former Regional Director has been transferred from Jammu and has taken over charge as Chief General Manager, Department of Regulation, Central Office, Reserve Bank of India, Mumbai.

Kerala govt's latest ordinance curbs freedom of expression: IFWJ

Lucknow, Nov 23(UNI) The Indian Federation of Working Journalists (IFWJ) has appealed to the Left Democratic Front Government of Kerala to withdraw its ordinance, amending the Kerala Police Act, 2011, which curbs freedom of expression.
Kerala government has amended Section 128 , adding a provision “A” reads: Accordingly, any person who creates or sends any information that is offensive or is intended to offend or threaten another person, though any means of communication, is liable to face imprisonment of three years or a fine of Rs. 1000 or both.
