MP to have law for safeguarding cattle

Bhopal, Nov 22 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan underlined on Sunday that specific legislation will be enacted for protection of bovines.
“Children in anganwadis shall be provided milk in place of eggs. Products made from milk, dung and cows’ urine will be popularised within the country and abroad. Janpad-wise nodal officers shall be nominated for better management of gaushalas,” the veteran leader was officially quoted as saying while addressing a Gopashtami function at the Salaria cow sanctuary in Agar-Malwa District.

Pastures will be developed on vacant land of the Forest Department, etc and rules drafted vis-à-vis allocation of government plots for constructing cowsheds. The dispensation is setting up approximately 2,000 gaushalas and social participation in their operation being ensured. The Gauvansh Sanjeevani Yojana shall be re-commenced for treatment of cattle and State Finance Commission funds utilised for managing livestock in panchayats.

Bhopal, Nov 22 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday solicited comprehensive inputs from the Seoni District administration regarding tremors on the intervening night of November 21-22, it was officially learnt.
“Information regarding related precautions should be shared with the people while maintaining seamless contact with the India Meteorological Department so that there is not even a vestige of trepidation. Citizens must be provided counselling through various media,” the senior politician emphasised.

MP to have cattle-rearing policy

Bhopal, Nov 22 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan averred on Sunday that a policy will be formulated subsequent to discussions with representatives of prominent social organisations and institutions plus monks engaged in gau-seva, official sources said.
“The Salaria cow sanctuary shall be developed as a model. A related tourism blueprint will be made to serve the sacred cow and connect the new generation with this sphere. Voluntary bodies should come forward to manage gaushalas. Pesticides made from bovine urine can free us from poisonous chemicals; gau-kasht and other products are more in vogue,” the veteran leader emphasised while interacting with representatives of various institutions in Agar-Malwa District.

MP CM’s Gopashtami wishes

Bhopal, Nov 22 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday extended Gopashtami greetings to the populace and performed gau-pujan at the cow sanctuary in Agar-Malwa District’s Salaria amid chanting of hymns, it was officially learnt.
The senior politician visited the bovine products manufacturing unit within the sanctuary complex and performed bhoomi pujan of five projects having a projected expenditure of Rs 36.55 lakh.
