Realme X7 series is headed to India but there is no clear date for when it is going to launch here. The company has been teasing the India launch of both Realme X7 and X7 Pro for a while, giving out interesting details. Realme India boss Madhav Sheth tweeted the confirmation that Realme X7 and X7 Pro are coming to India along with a timeline though. Sheth said the X7 series will launch in India next year. Ahead of the launch, the Realme X7 has received a certification by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).
The BIS website database now shows the Realme model number RMX2176, which belongs to the Realme X7. The certification to the Realme X7 was granted by the authority on November 17, which is too early considering Sheth is projecting the launch timeline for the next year. The Realme X7 Pro, which is a bigger model in the series, had received the BIS certification earlier this month, but there was no concrete timeline available for the launch of the series. Back then, rumours were rife that the Realme X7 series will launch in India sometime in December.
Realme X7 India launch
So now, the Reame X7 and X7 Pro, both have been granted the certifications, which confirms that they are indeed headed to the market soon. The launch could happen sometime in January 2021 but, again, we do not have a specific date yet. Realme is expected to share the launch date next month, at least one week ahead of the scheduled launch, as and when that happens. Besides, Sheth has also confirmed that the Realme X7 and X7 Pro will launch in other global markets, but more information on that is awaited.
Realme is stressing on its partnership with MediaTek for the X7 series because the two phones use the chipmaker's affordable 5G SoCs. Realme X7 is powered by a Dimensity 800U while the X7 Pro uses a Dimensity 1000L chipset under the hood. Both these chips are integrated with 5G modems that come at an affordable cost to "democratise 5G". In fact, with Realme X7 series, MediaTek will mark the launch of its 5G chipsets for smartphones in India. Qualcomm brought its 5G-powered Snapdragon 865 chipset back in February, thanks to Realme's flagship X50 Pro model.
Early 5G solutions
Realme has a rich plan that includes flooding the Indian market with affordable 5G handsets as early as possible. Notably, it was the first brand to bring India's first 5G handset, but that was suited for premium customers. While India is yet to see 5G services commercially available, Realme and other smartphone companies, including Apple, are not shying away from pushing their 5G-enabled handsets in India. The argument that these smartphones are future-proof makes a lot of sense right now until 5G services that will kickstart in India bring in the reality. This means that although you will not be able to use 5G in India right away, you will not have to change your device for when the next-generation services become available.
