Haryana counts 2,279 Covid-19 cases, 25 deaths

CHANDIGARH: Haryana on Sunday recorded 2,279 new cases of Covid-19 and 25 deaths, taking the state’s overall case count to 217,300 with 2,188 deaths. As many as 2,235 patients recovering during the day pushed the number of recoveries to 194,768, while the recovery rate stood at 89.63%.
At the day’s end, there were 20,344 active cases in the state, out of which 415 critical patients were either on oxygen or ventilator support.
Four deaths each were reported from Gurgaon, Rohtak and Hisar districts, while three patients died in Bhiwani, two each in Fatehabad, Sonipat and Jhajjar, and one patient each succumbed in Ambala, Kurukshetra, Sirsa and Jind districts.
Gurgaon continued to top the chart of daily cases counting 649 new cases, followed by Faridabad with 598, while Hisar reported 160 fresh infections. A total of 126 new cases surfaced in Sonipat, 75 in Panchkula, 66 in Rohtak, 63 in Bhiwani, 61in Karnal, 56 in Ambala, 54 each in Panipat and Jhajjar and 52 tested positive in Fatehabad. Ten districts recorded less than 50 cases.
Haryana has increased testing to 125,250 tests per million per day with over 31.75 lakh people tested for the virus so far.
