11:15 AM| The Delhi government on Monday withdrew its order to shut two markets in Punjabi Bagh and Nangloi area of West Delhi districts for flouting various coronavirus (Covid-19) guidelines including on social distancing and face masks. The markets were to remain shut till November 30, as per an order issued by the the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA).


10:25 AM| Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Monday inaugurate the multi-storeyed flats for Members of Parliament at 11 am via video conferencing. According to an official release, these flats are located at Dr B D Marg in New Delhi. Eight old bungalows, which were more than 80 years old, have been redeveloped to construct 76 flats.


Odisha Governor Prof. Ganeshi Lal’s wife Susheela Devi passed away at a private hospital last night. The First Lady of the State, Governor Lal, and four of their family members had tested positive for COVID-19 on November 1 and were undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the capital city.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has expressed deep grief over the demise of Susheela Devi. Describing her as a very warm and pious person, Patnaik conveyed his deep sympathy to the Governor and other members of the bereaved family.

Today is the 245th day since India implemented a nationwide lockdown to help curb the novel coronavirus pandemic. So far, India has recorded 91,39,865 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 1,33,738 deaths. A total of 85,62,641 people have recuperated from COVID-19 so far.

There are 4,43,486 active cases in the country as of date, which comprises 4.85 percent of the total caseload, the data stated. Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka have reported the highest number of cases. However, infections are rising rapidly in states like Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal. India’s recovery rate continues to rise and now stands at 93.69 percent. Globally, more than 5.85 crore people have been infected by the coronavirus and 13.86 lakh have died so far.
