Two held for transformer thefts

The police in Sriganganagar, 40 km from here, today claimed to have busted an interstate gang involved in the theft of transformers with the arrest of two of its members.

SP Rajan Dushyant said Tarlochan Singh (28) of Chak 2-KNM village and Jaswant Singh, alias Jaswinder Singh, alias Jaspreet, (22) of Chak 4RJD village in Chhattisgarh had been arrested. During preliminary interrogation, it came to light that the gang had stolen 15 transformers of the electricity board in Ramsinghpur, Raisinghnagar, Srivijaynagar, Sadulshahar and Jaitsar in Sriganganagar district. — OC
