Earlier in the day, the benchmark equity indices extended their gains for the second straight session as positive results from another Covid-19 vaccine candidate bolstered investor confidence globally. A recovering rupee and unabated foreign fund inflows added to the momentum. The 30-share BSE Sensex gained around 195 points to 44,077, while the 50-share Nifty index advanced 67 points to 12,926.

>> SBI Mutual Fund bought 7,44,279 shares of Matrimony.com at Rs 643.90 per share, while CMDB II sold 9,00,000 at Rs 644 per share.
>> GemAsia acquired 4,25,000 shares of PVR at Rs 1,265.67 per share. Shares of the company settled 3.86 per cent higher at Rs 1,275.90.
>> Maven India Fund sold 2,51,831 shares of Veto Switchgear Cable at Rs 71.20 per share.
>> Nomura India Investment Mother Fund purchased 9,00,000 shares of Aavas Financiers at Rs 1,515 per share. SBI Life Insurance Company also bought 6,60,000 of the company at the same price. On the other hand, AU Small Finance Bank sold 35,00,000 shares at Rs 1,515.16.
