Glen Mintrim has been appointed as the Chief Executive of Wendy Wu Tours stepping up from the position of Managing Director, U.K. The move will be effective from the start of December and has been undertaken as a part of the company’s global restructure.
Mintrim joined the company in 2019, and has led Wendy Wu Tours through a strong growth phase, despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. As a part of his latest role, Mintrim will lead the global senior team, and drive an ambitious five-year growth and development plan as well as put a significant focus on increasing support and resources for the trade.
Wendy Wu, Founder, Wendy Wu Tours said in a statement that Glen is an exceptional leader and shared that his track record in transforming and expanding the business across multiple new platforms, as well as delivering a wide-ranging reset of the core U.K. business, has been extraordinary. He added that Glen’s depth of international experience, his collaborative leadership style, as well as his proven results in building a high-performance team at Wendy Wu Tours, will be an asset in the new chief executive position.
Speaking on his appointment, Mintrim said in a press statement that he is honoured and excited to take up the role with an amazing and forward-looking business. He shared that the tour operator company have a great culture and a winning strategy that has enabled it to weather the challenges of the year whilst continuing to grow. He also mentioned that he has accepted the challenge of building the success further with confidence and determination, not only for the business but for the travel industry as a whole.
