Washington, Nov 22(UNI) A lawsuit filed by the Trump campaign in Pennsylvania calling for declaring millions of mail-in votes as invalid in the state was on Sunday dismissed by a judge in the battleground state.
In his ruling Judge Brann wrote that the suit, which rested on allegations of irregularities, was "without merit", adding that the Trump campaign had tried to "disenfranchise almost seven million voters".
The Trump campaign had argued that the state had violated the US Constitution's guarantee of equal protection under the law as some, Democratic-run counties allowed voters to fix errors on their ballots while Republican-run counties did not.
The ruling in Pennsylvania is the latest in a series of states which have given victory to Joe Biden where he leads by more than 80,000 votes.
