Chandigarh, November 22: While the people were busy decorating their homes, and worshipping for the arrival of goddess Lakshmi, Haryana Police celebrated this Diwali by spreading awareness through the “Har Ghar Lakshmi” campaign across the state. On the festive day of Diwali, Women Police Station teams from various districts gave a surprise visit to various homes in their areas. During their visit to hundreds of homes, SHOs of the Women Police Stations across the state gave Diwali greetings to the people by educating them about the services provided by Women police stations and the Durga Shakti App for women’s safety.
What is the ‘Har Ghar Lakshmi’ campaign?
‘Har Ghar Lakshmi’ is an awareness campaign of Haryana Police which was started on the occasion of Diwali 2020, showing that the women in our homes symbolize goddess Lakshmi. So, taking proper care of women can bring happiness and prosperity in our lives. Women’s safety is very important for the development of any state and country.

The Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal appreciated #HarGharLakshmi on Twitter, while re-tweeting a couple of tweets by Karnal Police and Kurukshetra Police. “The woman present in our homes is Lakshmi, I welcome the commendable initiative like ‘Har Ghar Lakshmi’ which has been started with the message of honoring Lakshmi at home. I thank the women police officers for making women aware of Durga Shakti App and Women Police Stations,” the CM wrote.
The people from various districts also welcomed the police officers in their homes and appreciated the #HarGharLakshmi initiative.
Haryana Police plans to connect with people across the state using various forums and media
Through the on-ground #HarGharLakshmi campaign and social media campaign for COVID-19 awareness like #MannMeinLockdown, the Haryana Police has strengthened its information and communication strategies by making meaningful efforts for building a better connect with the public across the state.
“We are implementing various methods to gain public trust and trust-building strategies. ‘Har Ghar Lakshmi’ is also a part of this,” told Mr. Navdeep Singh Virk, the Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order).
