CHANDIGARH: The State Vigilance Bureau (SVB), Haryana, has caught estate officer Alokpanth and rent collector of the Waqf Board, Rohtak, Naseer while accepting bribe of Rs 50,000.
Sharing details, a bureau spokesperson said Harish Kumar of Meham had submitted a complaint to the vigilance bureau that he had applied to take a plot on rent in the Waqf Board. Initially, the above said officials of the Waqf Board had demanded a bribe of Rs 1,60,00 for the same (Rs 80,000 before and 80,000 after the approval), but after negotiation, they agreed for Rs. 50,000.
A VB team led by Inspector Pardeep Kumar carried out a raid and caught Naseer and Alokpanth red-handed in the presence of a duty magistrate. A criminal case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act against the accused. Investigation in the case is in progress.
