Maharashtra government may restrict flights, trains, from Delhi

The Maharashtra state government is considering restricting flights and trains into the state from the national capital after Delhi reporting a surge in Covid-19 cases. The Mumbai-Delhi route is the busiest for air traffic.

Senior officials from the state government said the issue came up during a discussion on steps the state needs to take in the post-Diwali phase to check the spread of infections.

"It is still under consideration. The proposal came up in a discussion on precautionary measures to be taken. A final decision hasn`t been taken as yet," said state chief secretary Sanjay Kumar.
