Nagaland detects 66 COVID-19 positive cases

Kohima, Nov 21 (UNI) Nagaland recorded 66 new COVID-19 cases today, after which the total number of positive cases in the state rose to 10,674.

Nagaland Principal Secretary for Home Abhijit Sinha in an official release informed that of the new 66 COVID-19 positive cases have been detected today. Of them 51 cases in Dimapur, 14 cases in Tuensang and one case in Kohima. He also informed that 33 positive patients have recovered, which included 28 patients from Dimapur and five patients from Peren.

He further informed that out of the 10,674 positive cases, the total recoveries so far are 9,137. The active cases are 1,370 and there have been 51 deaths. As per the severity of symptoms 1,323 active cases are asymptomatic, 26 active cases are mild, 11 active cases are moderate on oxygen, 4 active cases are severe on oxygen, 5 active cases are critical without oxygen and 1 active case is on ventilator.

Further, out of 10,674 positive cases, the distributions across various categories of people are: 4,420 cases of Armed Forces and Police, 1,753 cases of Returnees, 3,997 cases of Traced Contacts and 504 cases of Frontline Workers.

A total of 67,309 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 66,369 samples have been received. In addition, a total 35,529 samples have been sent for testing on Truenat and results of 35,501 samples have been received. Through Rapid Antigen Test 6,691 samples have been tested.”
