PRAYAGRAJ: Noted radio broadcaster and a faculty member of Allahabad University’s Institute of professional Studies K Rashi Badalia Kumar has come out with her maiden anthology of poems ‘From My Attic: a journey through 108 shades’. The collection of 108 poems is a mirror to Rashi’s life’s exploration showcasing hues of love, flora and fauna, realism, contemplation and spiritualism thereby categorising the poems into these very five sections.
The book has foreword by Nishi Pandey, former head and professor of English and modern European languages department, Lucknow University and back cover applause by Prof RL Hangloo, noted Urdu and Persian poet and honorary chancellor of Nobel International University, Toronto, Canada. Former MP and renowned Bollywood actress Dipika Chikhlia Topiwala of Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan fame has also extended Rashi her best wishes in the book.
The book penned by Rashi, a passionate animal lover, was released in a unique ceremony by two newly born pups ‘Love’ and ‘Loyalty’ at a brief ceremony in a Civil Lines hotel with the message #FeedAnAnimalADay to all to care and feed a hungry stray animal every day.
“True to the message, the entire royalty earned through the sale of this book would go in feeding animals on the roads,” shared Rashi whose book is available online at Amazon India and Universal Book Depot and Universal Book Company, both located in Civil Lines, Prayagraj.
Rashi is an academician, a well-known radio broadcaster, an author, a poetess, a Tarot reader and citizen journalist. She has over 23 years of experience both in radio broadcasting and academics. She has recently served as one of the jury members for the prestigious Association for International Broadcasting (AIB) Awards – 2020 by the London,
UK-based body. Rashi, in 2017 was a finalist of the AIB Awards in the ‘Presenter of the Year (Audio)’ category in her individual capacity. She has over a dozen awards to her credit including Rani Laxmi Bai Award by Uttar Pradesh Government (2016). She has also authored ‘A Gift–Your self-help companion to life at crossroads’ published in 2016.
