New Delhi: India on Saturday summoned Charge d`Affaires of Pakistan High Commission and lodged a strong protest over the Nagrota encounter after it emerged that Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists killed in the encounter were planning a big terror operation on the anniversary of the 26/11 Mumbai attack. Raising the issue of cross-border terrorism, India conveyed its strong concern to Pakistan on the terror attack planned by Jaish in Jammu and Kashmir.

Raising the issue of cross-border terrorism, India conveyed its strong concern to Pakistan on the terror attack planned by Jaish in Jammu and Kashmir.
India lodged a strong protest demanding that Pakistan stops supporting terrorists and terror groups operating from their territory and dismantle the terrorism infrastructure, sources in the Ministry of External Affairs told Our Reporter. The government of India is firm and resolute in taking all necessary measures to safeguard its national security in the fight against terrorism, the MEA said. This comes a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a review meeting with top security brass in the wake of the killing of four JeM terrorists in Nagrota. The PM said security forces thwarted efforts of the terrorists to wreak "major havoc and destruction" in J&K.
In his tweets following the meeting, PM Modi said, “Neutralising of 4 terrorists belonging to Pakistan-based terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed and the presence of large cache of weapons and explosives with them indicate that their efforts to wreak major havoc and destruction have once again been thwarted." Hailing the security forces, PM Narendra Modi said they have once again displayed utmost bravery and professionalism. “Thanks to their alertness, they have defeated a nefarious plot to target grassroots level democratic exercises in Jammu and Kashmir," the prime minister said.
What happened in Nagrota?
Four Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists were on Thursday killed and two policemen injured in a gunbattle in Nagrota after a truck carrying newly infiltrated militants was intercepted. Inspector General of Police (IGP), Jammu, Mukesh Singh, had said after the encounter that the terrorists had come to execute a "big plan".
