Lt Governor Kiran Bedi in a WhatsApp post on Friday said that this was suggested in the COVID review meeting the team had with her.

The team suggested that all people tested positive for the virus shall be admitted in the hospitals to be under institutional care, small gatherings are the spreaders and are to be treated as caution points, aggressive public campaigns for mask compliance, intensive testing in the work place to be continued and among other things.

It also suggested that check list of all good practices followed by all agencies such as Health, Police, LAD etc to be prepared and circulated to sustain the low positivity rate and prevent the outbreak of the second wave.

The ICMR team said dengue prevention to be carried out along with COVID-19, Bedi added.

Meanwhile, as many as 54 more persons were tested positive for coronavirus in the Union Territory since the last 24 hours ending at 10 AM on Friday taking the cumulative tally to 36,585 so far. No deaths were reported during this period.

At present, 210 patients are being treated in Puducherry,10 in Karaikal, 8 in Yanam region and 20 in Mahe region. As many as 101 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours.
