Nath bows to Indira

Bhopal, Nov 19 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee President Kamal Nath paid glowing tributes on Thursday to the country’s only woman premier Indira Gandhi on her birth anniversary.
“A thousand salutations to the Bharat Ratna-recipient iron lady whose indomitable courage, firm resolve, robust willpower and sentiment of national unity established India as a powerful presence on the global stage. She lavished affection on me as her ‘third’ son and was my ideal guide in the political sphere. Her work in national and public interest is unforgettable,” the erstwhile chief minister and former central minister conveyed via social media.

Rajya Sabha Member Digvijaya Singh and others also expressed homage.

Computer Baba out on bail

Indore, MP, Nov 19 (UNI) A local court granted bail on Thursday to Namdev Das Tyagi aka Computer Baba in a case pertaining to assault and issuance of threats.
With this, the godman – who was in judicial custody since November 8 – got a breather in all four criminal matters pending against him.

Rapist gets death sentence after 116 days of daily hearings

Chhindwara, MP, Nov 19 (UNI) A man was awarded capital punishment on Thursday subsequent to being pronounced guilty – after 116 days of daily hearings at the Amarwara Sessions Court – of the kidnap, sexual assault and homicide of a three-year-old.
Additional Judge Nisha Vishwakarma handed down the death penalty to Ritesh whereas his accomplice Dhanpal is to spend seven years in rigorous imprisonment.

War against COVID-19: MP’s body count rises to 3,129

Bhopal, Nov 18 (UNI) The fatality figure owing to the ‘millennium scourge’ mounted to 3,129 on Thursday in Madhya Pradesh where 14 fresh demises were reported even as the infected tally touched 1,88,018 with 1,363 more sufferers being detected during analysis of 27,048 specimens.
A Health Services Directorate bulletin pegged the active cases at 9,800 – a summation of statistics that are on the upward spiral in all 52 districts. Bhopal continued to have the dubious distinction of spawning the highest 378 new instances, Indore 255, Gwalior 92, Ratlam 64, Jabalpur 60, Rewa 45, Vidisha 39, Sagar 30, Ujjain 27, Rajgarh 26 and Khargone 23.
