Stock market update: Nifty Financial Services index up 2%; Bajaj Finserv soars 8%

NEW DELHI: Nifty Financial Services index was trading with gains at 02:21PM (IST) on Friday.

Shares of Bajaj Finserv (up 8.0 per cent), ICICI Lombard (up 5.31 per cent), Bajaj Finance (up 3.55 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank (up 3.38 per cent) and Shriram Transport Finance (up 2.96 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Power Finance Corporation (down 0.67 per cent), HDFC Asset Management Company (down 0.48 per cent), REC (down 0.22 per cent) and Axis Bank (down 0.01 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Financial Services index was trading 1.91 per cent up at 14240.1 around 02:21PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 103.70 points at 12875.4, while the BSE Sensex was up 358.95 points at 43958.91.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 39 were trading in the green, while 11 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SBI, Tata Motors and Bharti Infratel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Gland Pharma Ltd., Titan Company , Adani Gas Ltd., Tanla Solutions and Affle (India) Ltd. hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Shubhlaxmi Jewel Art Ltd., Jump Networks Ltd., CMM Infraprojects Ltd., Deep Energy Resources Ltd., Sumit Woods Ltd., Lakshmi Vilas Bank Ltd. and Shrenik Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
