ESIC gives these special facilities to the employees of the country, know how to avail its benefits

The Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) undertakes to provide many essential facilities to the employees of the country. Whether the job is government or private, health plans work well for every category. But do you know here that ESIC offers six special benefits of being an account holder?

Under the ESI Act 1948, this facility is given to the registered employee only. It covers events such as illness, maternity, temporary or permanent disability, occupational illness, or death due to injury, resulting in loss of income, etc. If you also fall under its eligibility, then know what are its benefits-

1. Benefits of Medicare: As per the information available on the official website of ESIC, the insured employee and other members of his family are provided full medical facility from the day his insured job starts.

There is no maximum spending limit on the treatment of the insured or his family member. Medical facilities are provided equally to retired and permanently disabled insured persons and their spouses on payment of a token annual premium of Rs 120.

2. Benefits in case of illness: When an employee is ill, he needs the most help. As per the rules of ESIC, there is a provision for giving compensation to the insured employee at the rate of 70 percent during the period of certified sickness for a maximum of 91 days in a year.

In order to be eligible for the facility of medical treatment expenses, the insured employee is required to contribute his contribution for 78 days in a period of 6 months. 3. Maternity benefits: Maternity benefit for pregnancy is payable for 26 weeks. This can be extended for a period of one month on any medical advice and full salary will also be given during this period. But a contribution of two periods or 70 days is seen for this.

4. In the case of physical disability or disability: Under ESIC rules, benefits are already being given to the employees for temporary disability or disability. Accordingly, the employee is paid a salary at the rate of 90 percent from the date of entering the insured employment till the time of disability.

In the case of permanent disability, the benefit is paid at the rate of 90 percent as a monthly payment, depending on the extent of loss of earning capacity of the employee.

5. These benefits for dependents: This benefit is available to the dependents nominated by the employee. In these cases, the dependents of the deceased insured are paid 90 percent of the salary as a monthly payment. But it is seen whether the death of the employee happened due to an injury while on duty or due to official hazards.

6. Other benefits: An amount of Rs 15,000 is also provided to the ESIC employee's dependents or to the person performing the last rites. The insured women or male employees are provided with treatment, health testing facilities for their wives.
